VM Wealth Management representatives join University of the West Indies and Taylor Hall representatives to cut a cake symbolising the launch of the VM Wealth Investments Clubs in School programme recently.

Students at the secondary and tertiary levels are to be specially targeted to learn about investment principles and strategies as VM Wealth Management Limited (VMWM) expands its Investment Clubs in Schools programme.
Following the successful launch of the Taylor Hall Investment Club at the UWI, Mona recently, the VM Wealth Team intends to foster a new generation of financially savvy individuals by equipping them with the knowledge and tools to contribute to Jamaica’s economic development.
It is the first investment club sponsored by the Team at the tertiary level, while they have supported the Kingston College Young Investors Club for some time.
Speaking at the Taylor Hall launch event, Rezworth Burchenson, CEO of VM Investments Limited (VMIL), expressed excitement about the potential impact on young Jamaicans, and informed that the aim is to facilitate the development of similar clubs across the island.
“The Investment Clubs in Schools programme is about creating a culture of financial empowerment for the next generation. By introducing students to investment principles early, we are giving them the tools to build wealth and contribute meaningfully to Jamaica’s future economic growth. I am thrilled to see the enthusiasm and engagement already coming from the students,” Burchenson shared.
VM Wealth support of the Club will extend to the provision of financial experts to guide and encourage dialogue on investment principles and financial literacy skills at its weekly meetings.
Distinguished Taylorite, Dr. Andre Haughton, UWI lecturer and renowned economist, Dr. Haughton highlighted the importance of financial literacy and investing early, noting that initiatives like these not only empower students but also contribute to long-term economic growth.
“Introducing students to investments at an early stage is critical for their personal financial success and the wider economic development of Jamaica. The skills they gain from this programme will allow them to make informed decisions, manage risk, and contribute positively to the financial landscape,” Dr. Haughton remarked.
